Following the success of our previous experience (SIBOUNHUANG dispensary in 2015), the health authorities of the Province of OUDOMXAY (northern Laos) asked us to build a new medical dispensary in the town of NAMPHOUAN. This dispensary is designed to be a place of prevention, care, training and education for the benefit of a weakened and deprived local population.

NAMPHOUAN is made up of 4 villages lost in the mountains (Lao, Khamu and Hmong villages). To get there, you have to take a 40 kilometer track that is impassable in the rainy season. The reality is that it is not possible to reach the District Hospital in less than 3 hours and even then, when the weather conditions allow it! Accidents, difficult deliveries, neonatal incidents must be treated and resolved on the spot, which obviously increases the risk of mortality. Hence the need to have a dispensary nearby to limit these risks.
